What is a Zigbee smart home hub?

Select eero systems include a built-in Zigbee smart home hub, eliminating the need for a separate hub for your connected devices. With the hub built in, compatible Zigbee devices connect directly to your eero network and work with Alexa — so you don’t need extra hardware cluttering your home.

What mesh technology does eero use?

eero uses its patented TrueMesh technology. TrueMesh ensures every eero connects wirelessly to every other eero in range, across both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi bands. This creates a dense network of connections and many possible paths for traffic to flow, so your network stays strong and is far less likely to slow down or drop.

Can eero replace a modem as well?

eero doesn’t replace your modem — it replaces your router. The first eero in your network (the gateway) plugs into your existing cable or fiber modem, and the rest extend coverage throughout your home. On Wire 3 fiber internet, your installer sets this up for you.
